Bags and Brows

I woke up early this morning due to the construction outside my window, and everyone was asleep so I just hopped on and figured I'd get today's post done. I was stuck between two items for todays post, I think I'm just going to talk about both since I cant choose.

The first is across the body bags, HUGE right now. If you dont have at least one, then you arent paying much attention to the stores right now. They're everywhere, walking through Forever21 yesterday, I was tempted to buy at least four (But I did resist). Not so hard to figure out that I'm a fan, a big fan of the across-the-body bags, and I actually just got one for myself. At The Grey House, a vintage store in tucson, I found a Vintage Louis Vuitton Doctor Bag with an attachable strap, I'm in love. Anyways, here are a couple of this seasons bags. On the right is Marc by Marc Jacobs and on the left is a Marni.
I would suggest it! It's comfortable, and leaves your hands free.
Trend number two is the eyebrow. With the right color, and shape, your eyebrows can make your eyes pop and become more noticable. Small eyebrows or ones that cant be seen really well are out. Women on the runways seem to be making them the most noticable thing on their face, along with their eye color. Some go to the extreme though, with blue and orange brows, so my conclusion on the brow? I like the idea of going darker, and keeping them shaped to make your eyes stand out, but coloring your brows? Just a bad idea. If i were to see any girl walking on the street with orange hair on their face, I'd judge, not to be mean of course, but I'd judge.
And for the record, I've got the darker brow, and the across the body bag being tried out, so it is doable.

New Statements

I've been watching a lot of the fall fashion shows and I've been keeping up with the magazine trends, I cant help but to wonder: How realistic are these trends?
Being the self conscience species that we are, we care about how we look, and how others see us. So we read magazines like Vogue (my bible) or Elle and we watch movies like Confessions of a Shopoholic and The Devil Wears Prada to get a sense of fashion, and when we feel informed, we feel confident. I know that I always feel more confident when I'm wearing my favorit top, or the brand new purse I purchased that pulls an outfit together, but it only works when the top or purse is in style. But at what point do the styles that we are being told are just so "in" make us look more rediculous than informed?

This, my friends is what I'm making my challenge for the summer. I want to experience all of the trends, try them out, and look inside the statement pieces of the summer/fall.

Today's item: Thick Heels

Looks like we're going back to Clueless. Through the "Most Wanted" accessories of Vogue, a trend in the heels becomes vocal and loud. Thick Heels. There is a warning label that comes with thick heels: make sure the rest of the shoe is in style. Going out there and buying the ticker heeled shoe, you run the risk of looking a bit retro or mom-ish. So be sure to take shape, color, and pattern into consideration.
I found this shoe in the Dolce & Gabbana 2010 Fall fashion show, and even though it isnt my personal style, I can see a woman on the side of the road rocking the hell out of this look.
My conclusion on the chunky heel? It is a style choice that can be rocked by anyone, so if it catches your trend-seeking eye, do it, but please, do it right.
And if you get the chance, check out Camilla Skovgaard's Fall collection, not the most practical, but fabulous in every way.

Too all the Grey Gleek Monsters

The end of TV season is here and it kinda sorta, really sucks. But im going to give some serious freak out time to Glee (yes, im a gleek) and Grey's Anatomy, my other favorite show.

If you didn't see the season finale of Glee, you suck. Sorry, you just do. It was pretty wonderful and even though it wasn't suprising at all, I was still hooked to every second of it. !!!Spoiler Alert!!!
So first of all, New Directions should have won the competition, it was so sad when they didn't, but SUPRISE SUPRISE, Sue Sylvester has a heart. Who didn't see that one coming?

Then, of course we had the couples that everyone loves end up together, Finn told Rachel he loved her, and Puck told Quinn he loved her, once again, suprised? Didn't think so.
Quinn had Puck's baby girl and they gave it to Rachel's real mom? WHAAAA? I know, confused and grossed me out too. Does anyone actually like Rachel's mom?
Well, the Glee Club will be alive to see another year thanks to Sue, and the whole world is happy because I do not know a single person who doesnt love Glee.

Then there's the Grey's anatomy finale. I'll admit that this whole season for Grey's has been so bad! Ah! It seems like they saved all their ideas for the finale, and all the actors that realized it was a horrible season jumped ship and quit. A few characters got killed off but nobody that would have made any kind of impact. Anyways, I was so excited to see Marideth pregnant, sadly that didnt last long...

Alex Carev seemed to be just SOOO in love with Lexi, well, until he got shot and started talking about Izzy Stevens. Which broke Lexi and Mark's hearts (and mine *sob*) Does anyone else want Mark and Lexi to be together? I mean they are PERFECT! Anyways, the lesbians are back together and planning on having loads of babies, awesome.

But basically, Darek and Alex got shot. Doctors we dont really care about died, and Owen came back to Christina because he loves her, SHOCKING.
Gaga Time
I was a little suprised by Ms. Gaga's new Alejandro video. I love that song and even though I have no idea what anything in the video had to do with the song, it was cool. And i did enjoy the creativity of it.
Also, the Lady Gaga concert is coming up in about a month and i could not be more excited for it! And i know it seems stupid but i still have no idea what to wear... how do you dress for something so amazingly fantastic!?
Off to Rocky Point on monday, exciting!
More Updates when i get back to the real world on Friday.
Oh and I've dedicated a song to today, and the giant shopping spree i went on this morning,

i told you she didnt have a penis....

okay, BIG NEWS! telephone by my favorite girl in the world, gaga, has its music video finally out for the world to see, and i will say that i love it! who cares if she shows her vagina? youre just jealous you dont have the guts to show yours. and may i just say that i LOVE that she put her hair in soda cans. she's hot, and i love it, and i love that it makes me want to wear less clothing.
i wish the whole world could be like a Gaga video, aka, as little clothing as possible. i want to wear bathing suits and underwear everywhere i go...and id like to be able to make my hair into any shape i choose...

hello world, please turn the world into a Gaga video. thanks, Sam

and im happy she didnt try to make it girly. she took a jail, and let it be a jail. i mean, no, she didnt sugar coat it and didnt try to make you feel good about it. she let it be dirty and dark, just like its suppost to be.
and the last note about my video for the night: stop making it try to mean something! its a music video. its upbeat and fun, and its colorful. but dont try to "find a deeper meaning" sometimes you have to (in the words of gaga) JUST DANCE.
and i want to give notice to a new favorite website of mine : ifmurdered.com . its so hilarious, and its brand new, so if you post something worthy soon, itll problably get on pretty quick! here are my two favorites:
and
and my next post will be very soon i promise, but im uber tired, so im off to bed.

gaga and a happy birthday.

mi amor, ms.gaga, was freaking fierce on the cover of Q mag. this week. I LOVE IT! but for some reason a lot of people are refusing to sell it? i mean, her hand is placed over the boobage (mostly) and other then that, there's just a wee bit'o crotch grabbing. gaga, i love you. and on behalf of the US, we're sorry. and i realize i havent done a blog post about Lady Gaga yet, but im just waiting till i have some time on my hands because that WILL be the longest blog i ever write. But i definitly love this picture. its beautiful and it makes her look so good! good choice gaga, once again, you make me proud.

and there are a few things im finding that id like to share because everyone wants to have the gaga fashion, but are doing it all wrong and its making me cringe: FASHION VS. GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE, YOU LOOK LIKE A FREAK

This is what your eyeliner should look like! Jesus, why cant people get it through their heads that raccoon eyes ARE NOT HOT. it just makes you look like an emo druggy...or a raccoon, and raccoons definitly arent the animal you should chose to look like. i mean, if youre going to go for an animal look, why not go for a really cool one? like a tiger, or a cheetah, or a toocan! and colored spandex ARE NOT flattering. yea, i understand you want to stand out, or whatever your goal is...but you really just need to realize that it lookes rediculous. So, cat eye eyeliner? good. great. love it. black spandex? good. amazing. awesome. but raccon eyes? BAD. colored spandex? HORRID.

Also, as the captain of the RHS/UHS tennis team, im in charge of making the sweatshirts. They need to say "Rincon University Tennis" and have a place for people's names. But other than that im totally open to any suggestions. who knew this job was so effin' hard!? ANYWAYS. woo! i got in the paper this month :) i was pretty excited...and i look kinda evil... but whatever. check it out! its titled "power ranger" at azstarnet.com and i know it looks like i have raccoon eyes, but i DONT its just the lighting. i would never.
Oh, and id like to wish one ms.maddie b. a happy birthday! yayy! 16! and i hope you have tons of fun in the most amazing place on earth. :)

And i would like to end this post by showing you my favorite picture that ive seen today. i was on some website that i didnt even understand for some reason, looking at makeup and i came across it. and yes, i fell in love, so im letting you all fall in love with it as well.
bye everyone
happy rodeo vacation/ happy birthday/ happy makeup googling weekend :)

pirates and tigers and balls, OH LORD!

dear johnny depp, you are my favorite and you will always be.
oh friday night, johnny depp surprised his fans at hot topic's fan event for alice in wonderland.
id like to see who DOESNT want to marry him...i might have to punch them.
also, alice in wonderland is going to be in theatres really soon! the soundtrack has avril lavigne, all american rejects, tokio hotel, and kerli...EWW! but im so excitedfor the movie, and ill keep you posted on any new alice in wonderland facts i learn.

also, somehow, it took tiger woods two months to address what he did. it happened on november 27 and it took him till february 19? his speech wasnt THAT good, what did he spend all his time doing? as far as im concerned, he a bitch...okay, not the right word...he's an ass. but he is a talented ass, we dont have to like it, but it's true.
however, another top athlete who HAS NOT slept with thousands upon millions of people should be respected more and should stop being compared to tiger. helloooo! roger federer, youre so much better than tiger! people need to stop putting them in commercials and ads together saying "theyre the best" because they ARE NOT equal anymore. they're just not. okay, i know that the picture is a little extreme...but come on...made me laugh.

only once every four years

sorry, but i just HAVE to talk about the olympics! theyre just wonderful. so far, my two favorite events have been the men's halfpipe snowboarding and the men's figure skating. for some reason my two favorite people this year are both insanly beautiful...but thats not why i like them... but it does help.
first, is Shaun White. oh gingers, you have no idea how hot you really are. anyways, shaun white was really the most impressive thing ive seen yet.
as he was going down the halfpipe, he flew higher and faster than anyone else ive seen. and along with that, he did not even need to do his second round, he had already won. but for his second round he have us all a treat and showed us the as of now, no-name trick he's been working on since the last olympics. he spun 4 times, while doing three flips... IN THE AIR. just... un-be-lieve-able! oh, and yeah, in case you didnt know, he's american. so we all love him.

my number two favorite is another america, Evan Lysacek. he's a cleaner, more glittery kind of hot. but yes. hotness. the snakes on his costume say it all. just like shaun white, evan won a gold medal for america. it was the first that we've gotten in figure skating since 1988. to wint the medal, lysacek had to upset Evgeni Plushenko... who im pretty sure is from russia, but ive been wrong about things being from russia before. but i did notice that as lysacek's routine went on, he played it safe for the first couple minutes, then hit a trigger somewhere in his mind that sent him into power. it was nothing but raw power for the end of his routine and it payed off, it wasnt about skating with grace and precision anymore, it was nothing but heart, and every last bit of energy he had being put into the final tricks of his olympic routine.
you could just see it in his body when he finished his final spin and pounded his chest and screamed "yes! yes! yes!"
no matter what, it was a victory for him and the gold was what topped it all off.
can i just say, that im also loving the shoulder pads on evan's costume? those plus the snakes? i, myself, am proud. and Gaga would be too.

oh, and johnny weir, what is with the rose crown-thing you wore? i mean come on...that was just a bad call... sorry johnny.
